How To Cure Vomiting And Excessive Mucus?

im 20 years old and i have been vomitting on and off on a weekly basis for 7 years. i just recently came across cyclic vomitting syndrome and im pretty sure that is what is going on. they mention side affects such as excess spitting and such but does i also have to blow my nose at least 10 times while vomitting to get rid of excess mucus and sometimes that can make me throw up more. is there anything i can do and are these linked too?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The management of the chronic vomiting depends upon the underlying cause as it may be from stomach, liver, gall bladder, bile duct system, pancreas or other systemic issue.

Primary relief with anti-emetic and proton pump inhibitor, which is not a curative approach.

So, in our set up, we strongly recommend to undertake ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis; upper GI endoscopy with or without CT scan to figure out the cause and manage accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
