How To Detect A Chalazion And Can Gatifloxacin Drops Treat It?

I have a chalazion I believe, it was a stye a few months ago and the lump never went away then it came back worse and fits the definition of chalazion. It s been draining really well and now looks like a conquer sore on my top inside eyelid, my mom has some gatifloxacin eye drops, should I use them for infection? I do have a opthomalogist appointment for July 30th.

Hello
From the history it looks like chalazion since it has followed a stye.
The treatment is by use of antibiotics and hot compression. Gatifloxacin being a eye drop you can use it.
However the definitive treatment for chalazion is by use of injections of intralesional steroids or by surgery in the form of incision and curettage.

Thank you
