Hi there,
Thanks for being with us in HCM. I am Dr.Aliem, and I am pleased to answer your query.

First of all, I would like to contradict your friends' saying that you look thin and 'weak'. I would like to insist that being 'thin' is not equivalent to being 'weak'.

The stature of a person depends upon many factors, most important of all is your genetic make-up. i.e just as how your complexion, hair colour etc are in your genes, so is your stature. As long as you remain energetic and feel good, you are healthy. Nothing much to worry about it.

But your calculated BMI (Body Mass Index i.e weight/height square) is 15.4, which is quite low. So I suggest you to take diet rich in calories and nutrients. Consult your dietician and frame a diet plan that suits you. Please make sure that you take a balanced diet. Avoid taking protein formulae, except under dietician's advice. At the same time, do regular work outs to maintain your BMI at 18.5 to 24.9.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further queries if any. If you are satisfied with this answer, please do give your feedback.
