Hi,
Noted the history about fullness and great pressure in upper abdomen going into chest, feeling like big balloon blows and takes a long time to go down.
Such a thing can occur in the following instances:
Intestinal obstruction.
Big
hiatus hernia.
IBS.
This can be diagnosed by simple ways.
X-ray of abdomen in standing and laying down position when you get the
bloating. This can show any obstruction or trapped air or hiatal hernia allowing the stomach in chest and so on.
This can be assisted by Barium contrast studies, Upper GI
Endoscopy and Contrast enhanced CT scan of abdomen.
Once diagnosed it can be treated.
If there is any positive finding then you may need a corrective surgery.
If all the investigations are normal then IBS or psychological aspect can be considered and treated accordingly.
Stop aerated beverages and foods like nuts or so which can give more gases.
Eat and swallow slow, no haste.
Relax and avoid stress and
anxiety.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
