How To Get Rid Of Prolonged Coughing?

I have had a cough since Jan. I was in the hospital for sepsis before this. It starts with a cough and can’t quit. Taken meds for reflux steroids antibiotics cough med. nothing is helping it’s getting worse I can’t hardly get my breath before I cough again
