Hi, on the 22nd of April, the palm of my hand got cut as a bathroom sink dropped on it. It made a deep wound which needed 7 stitches. On the 19th of May, the stitches got taken out. Today (22nd May), my hand is still swollen and the cut hasn t been fully closed as I can still see the flesh in my hand. Is this anything serious or should I just continue to cover it with a bandage? And how long do you reckon it would take to fully heal?
As per your case history of wound, my treatment advice is:
1. Do not squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a vitamin C supplement once daily for 3 months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
