How To Improve Health While Having Type 2 Diabetes, CAD And Kidney Disease?

I am a 70 year old male with type 2 diabetes, CAD and moderate kidney disease. For the past 9 months I have eaten a vegan diet, getting most of my protein from processed soy bean products. I eat fruit, vegetables and legumes on a daily basis. I have eliminated, with my physician’s permission, two blood pressure medications and one for lowering triglycerides. My blood pressure is now in the normai range, I have lost approximately 40 pounds, my blood lipids are better than normal. I still take Doxazosin, Atorvastatin, Clopidogril, Carevedilol and fish oil. I get limited exercise due to neuropathic problems. Do you have any suggestions on how I might further improve my health? I’m doing better, but would like to live another 20 years or so. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you following for holistic health
1 strict compliance with the treatment you have been taking
2 regular physical activities (brisk walking or slow jogging is better)
3 balanced diet with less carbohydrates, more vegetables and fruits, less fat, fish oils
4 can think of yoga (an Indian traditional art for healthy and long life). It includes asanas (body postures) and meditation (pranayam) and breathing exercises. Take help from trainer or can learn from Internet. But do in right way.
5 recreation is an important requirement in life.
6 take adequate breaks from work if you are working.
7 cut down or stop smoking, alcohol (if any)
