How To Lose Weight Post A Gastric Bypass Surgery?

hello, I had gastric bypass a few years ago, I lost 70 lbs and I don't exercise as much due to back issues. I am starting to gain a few pounds in the mid section, my skin is very dry and itchy, I take supplements and drink plenty of water. I am afraid I will regain the weight back. is there something I can do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is understandable to be concerned. You would need to monitor your diet to avoid further weight gain. If you are unsure about the diet that would best suit you, you should consult a nutritionist. In general, avoid sodas (unless low calorie) or fruit drinks. Avoid highly processed carbs. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, water- along with your meals. Swimming may be appropriate for you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
