How To Manage Severe Constipation And Bloating After Undergoing Cholecystectomy, Also Have Had Gastric Sleeve And Hernia Repair?

Hi, I had my gallbladder removed a year ago. Since then I had experience severe bloating and pains below the right rib. I only get relief when I lie down. Also a year ago before my gall bladder surgery I had gastro sleeve and hernia repairs. Since I my gall bladder removed I had severe constipation and bloating. I am on Protonix and amitiza but no relief from my symthoms. Should I contact my doctor for tests.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

Its normal to get bloating after cholecystectomy...to prevent that you need to avoid fatty foods...

You may try a combination to a ppi with levosulpride... it will surely give you relief from both bloating and constipation.
