How To Overcome Side Effects Of Pristiq?
I have been ok 50 mg Pristiq for two weeks and 2 days. The side effects were building to the point where I would rather be off Pristiq than on it. I stopped cold turkey yesterday morning. I ad my plats dose Monday, two days ago. This day three and I am very ill with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, vertigo, I can hardly walk.n Inam trying to keep up with my fluids. My GI tract is miserable with diahhrea and cramping. Inkeep getting headaches and my head feels like cement. My Pdoc is on vacation until next Monday. My GP said to taper gradually and so did the on call PDoc. Problem is there is no smaller dose than 50 mg to taper too. FDA said not to alternate days on and off. How can Inhelp myself and how long should Inexpect these discontinuation symptoms to last?

There is 25 mg dose for Pristiq. Since I suspect you have 50 mg tablets, you may want to break the tablet to a half tablet (25 mg) once a day for 1-2 weeks, then completely off.
Based on your progress or you may stay on 25 mg dose if your side effects are resolved which you can discuss further with your doctor when he returns to his office.
Since you have been on this treatment for only 2 weeks and 2 days, it won't take long to taper current dose either.
