How To Overcome The Burning Pain That Runs From Below My Kneecap And Down The Side Of My Leg?
i fell on a marble floor and hit my leg from the knee down, to the right of my right shin. It happened a week and a half ago. Now, when I bump that area or kneel down and get up the wrong way, I have a searing, burning pain that runs from below my kneecap and down the side of my leg. It hurts so much, it stops me in my tracks and I have to sit down or gently rub my leg for a few minutes. Then it goes away.
Hello and welcome to health care magic. Your description is suggestive of a tear in the ligaments of knee. The main ones are Anterior and Posterior cruciate ligaments. They can get injured during falls when the leg is rotated. It's a condition that can result in severe pain for a long time. Since you don't have swelling around the knee, we can rule out fractures. So my advice is to visit an orthopaedic specialist and he will take an MRI. The treatment is mainly surgical and it depends on the type of injury you are having. Hope this discussion will be helpful to you. Thank you.
