How To Overcome The Pain/discomfort Felt In The Nose After Prolonged Use Of Cocaine ?

I have been snorting cocaine for a year and I've stopped using about 3 months ago. I have no pain/discomfort whatsoever but my nose would produce clear mucous ( I have to blow my nose practically every 2 minutes ever since). Is this normal? Should I be really concerned? When will it stop? Thank you Doctor.

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Prolong cocaine use damage nasal mucosa by causing irritation and chronic inflammation. This damage lead to excessive mucous production even after few months after the stoppage of cocaine use.

Same time get yourself evaluated by ENT specialist to rule out allergic rhinitis and infection, which can also lead to excessive mucous production.

Wish you good health and all the best.
