HI i have had a pain in my left calf on my leg, it started during my first season of basketball late last year, in November. When bball got over the pain disappeared, but I started another short season of bball and the pain started again. Also if i hit the area where it hurts i kind of cant stand on it and it hurts really bad.

Hello, Thanks for your query.
The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of calf muscle strain. To get relief from the pain and for quick healing: 1. Do hot fomatation at the site. 2. Apply local anti-inflammatory gel 2-3 times a day. 3. Take anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen to reduce pain and local swelling or inflammation. 4. Do not put weight or try to do exercise that involve painful muscles. Give proper time for the injury to heal.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
Hi, As mentioned by you you had sports injury and there are chances of soft tissue injuries or avulsion injury are there which need to be diagnosed through clinical examination and investigations including XRays n MRI .In minor degree of tear can heal by immobilization itself. but in major one n some avulsion injury requires operative intervention. So in my opinion visit orthopaedic clinc n get review . Until u go there strict immobilization of limb is required otherwise injury may aggravate , Take analgesic with muscle relaxant , ppi , retains n chymotripsin , warm compression .
Thanks n regards
