How To Prevent Complications When Having Symptoms Of Gout?
I am a heart transplant patient, ten years and counting. Feel good except that I think i have symptoms of gout in my large toe, Painful to the touch but most of the time it does not bother me. My worry is going forward and what can I do to prevent further complications and issues? michael
Gout is usually slow progressive disease.Best step to prevent gout attack is to avoid sudden swing in uric acid level, avoid drinking lot of alcohol suddenly. Also avoid red meat and fruit and vegetable with lots of seed like tomato. There are drugs if you are having more than 2 to 3 episodes of pain per month, like Allopurinol and fabuxostat. Your rheuumatologist can advice you about that.
