How To Reduce Finger Pain Started After An Injury?

a soccer ball hit my finger, right after I thought my finger was broken because the finger was able to move slightly side to side. I went to the ER to get an x-ray and they said it wasn t broken. I wanted some advice on how to manage the pain and quicken the recovery process.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury to your finger .Fracture was excluded by x-ray.But you observed that you can move it side to side.It means you are having ligament injury affecting finger joints. So a finger splint may be used to promote healing of ligament injury. For pain relief you can take analgesic such as diclofenac. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
