How To Reduce Pain In Buttocks?

I have been having pain running down the middle of the crack of my butt. The pain is also in my left buttock. It hurts to sit, lay back in the recliner, and on my back. I used to get some relief from laying on my side or stomach. However, it seems to not help. I also have pain in my buttocks when driving. Do you have any suggestions?

hi there,
thankyou for using HCM
if you do not have a history of trauma, I find your pain more like it is in your tailbone. you might have more than one problem as if you are having pain in buttock means you can have problem in your joint connecting hip and back. since only physical examination and x-ray can confirm the diagnosis.
I would suggest you take an analgesic like ibuprofen and sit on an inflated tyre tube with your buttocs on the tube, so that your tailbone does not rest on ground for atleast 2 weeks.
also put hot pack in tailbone , and you can massage some local ointment like dicloran gel.
I hope this helps
kind regards
dr Fouzia
