How To Reduce Weight In A Hypertensive And Diabetic?

DEAR DR.: I HAVE BEEN A TYPE I DIABETIC FOR OVER 40 YEARS, AS WELL AS HYPERENSIVE. CURRENTLY, FAIR TO MODERATE CONTROL A1C = 7.5. ABOUT 15 YEARS AGO, I STARTED TO SPILL PROTEIN APROX. 1 GRAM PER DAY. MY DR. IMMEDIATELY SWITCHED ME TO CAPTOPRIL AND COZAR AND THAT ARRESTED THE CONDITION UNTIL ABOUT 6 MOS. AGO WHEN I STARTED SPILLING THE SAME AMOUNT OF PROTEIN AGAIN. MY DR. IMMEDIATELY SENT ME TO A NEPHROLOGIST IN MY AREA WHO ADDED AMLODIPINE 10mg ONCE A DAY. MY PROTEIN LEVEL DROPPED BY 50% TO 500mg PER DAY. THROUGHOUT THE TIME, AND CURRENTLY, MY CREATININE CLEARANCE HAS BEEN NORMAL, AS WELL AS MY KIDNEY FUNCTION BLOOD TESTS. MY NEPHROLOGIST WILL NOT CHANGE MY ACE OR ARB SAYING THAT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. AS AN ADVANCED-DEGREED CHEMIST, I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. I DID SEE ANOTHER NEPHROLOGIST AND HE SEEMS TO CONCUR WITH THE FIRST. MY ONLY RECOURSE BOTH FEEL IS TO LOSE WEIGHT AND CONTROL MY HYPERTENSION AND DIABETES (I KNOW THIS IS IMPORTANT). Are is there a more effective ACE and ARB therapy? Thank you.

as per my knowledge the nephropathy or spill protein can be dealt with any ace or arb, though their potency differs i.e. if one works at 20 mg other will do the same at 80. moreover some have a good hypertensive action some are poor but for controlling incipient or overt nephropathy you can use any of them
