How To Relieve Low BP And Dizziness After Stopping Pexidep CR 12.5?
Hello Doctor I am taking Pexidep CR 12.5 since last 7 months. As my doctor says I can leave the medicine now but one problem is when I leave medicine I suffer from lower blood pressure and dizziness only after 3rd or 4th days so I am not able to leave the medicine. Suggest me!
Paxidep-Cr 12.5 MG (Paroxetine) can cause orthostatic hypotension and dizziness. Gradual withdrawal of the drug (lowering the dose to half or on alternate days) before completely stopping the drug may help. Alternatively, the salt capsule may be taken as required basis to counter low BP for that period of 3-4 days. The drug is not habit forming. However, it is not generally advised to stop the use of this medicine abruptly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
