How To Remove Fluid In Lungs In Old Age?

my mother is 88 years old; chest x-ray showed bibasilar infiltrates and effusions. she has dialysis 3 times a week; since x-ray, now 4 times a week. can this fluid in the lungs be removed through needle? several patients have metioned they have had fluid removed at the hospital this way.

yes this fluid is often removed through procedure called pleural fluid aspiration. but we go for aspiration for diagnostic purposes or sometimes if patient is symptomatic we can also aspirate large amount of fluid theraputically.
