Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2 years and 4 months old side developed the following conditions this morning: : (1) head is slightly twisted to one side with somewhat limited movement of the neck (2) complaining about ear ache (3) Fever of 101 (4) Highly irritable (5) loss of appetite We went to the doctor when his fever was still low - doctor checked his ears thoroughly and did not find an infection. His diagnosis was torticollis. Now that he has fever how concerned should I be about much more serious possibilities, such as meningitis?
What all medicines were given? Chance of meningitis is low if your pediatrician has examined her and reassured. Torticollis can be caused by infections in ear or neck. Just continue antibiotics and analgesics as advised by doctor. We have to wait about 48-72 hours to see any response.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
