How To Treat A Abcess On The Left Upper Thigh Which Still Looks Noticable?

I had an abcess lanced and drained on my upper left thigh yesterday morning and I was expecting the mass to be much reduced as well as the pain but it still feel as big and hard as before and it s been burning at the site continuously since the anesthetic wore off. Is that a common occurrence? Do you know why it feels like burning/stinging at the site (even after 2 advils) ?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
NO, it is not a common occurrence. It appears that your cellulitis stage is still not settled. You need antibiotic cover along with NSAID & multi vitamins.
Kindly contact your surgeon for review.
