How To Treat A Bug Bite On Leg Of A Child?
Hello, my son is 2 years old, 27lbs. He has a hard bug bite right above his ankle. It was somewhat large, but his leg is tiny. It has not gotten any bigger, and he is not acting as though it bothers him, other than itching it occasionally. It has scabbed over, but I am concerned because it feels like a knot. Does it need to be checked out?

Hello. I just read through your question. This is very common in children. Some will react more than others. However, as long as he is not bothered by it, there is no need to be overly concerned. It may take some time, but it will resolve without intervention.

Hi...by what you quote it could be an insect bite allergy and I suggest you use the available over the counter allergic medications for a couple of days as suggested by the manufacturer and if it is not settling or increasing in 48 hours...see your paediatrician.
