How To Treat A Cyst With Orange Puss Near The Lip?

Hi, I got some kind of pimple under my lip, like a cyst, about a week ago, eventually it formed a light scab, I squeezed it a little (stupid, I know), then it oozed for a bit and formed a tighter scab. But now there is orange puss collecting around the side of the sore. What could this be? Ingrown hair? Folliculitis?

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I would keep a possibility of Impetigo, which is bacterial infection of the skin with development of honey colored crusting.

If I was the treating doctor I would have advised you a week of an oral antibiotic e.g Pencillin group or cephalosporin group (either amoxycillin or cefadroxyl).

Topical OTC antibacterial ointment e.g 2% mupirocin can also be applied, twice daily in addition to the oral antibacterial.

regards
