How To Treat A Dent And Severe Pain On The Artificial Knee Joint After Injury?

I fell hard on my artificial knee last Saturday. X-rays showed that I didn t damage the components at all, luckily. I immediately developed a large dent directly under my kneecap, which also looks a little bit like a ledge. The pain is excruciating. There is also quite a bit of swelling. It s been a week and is not getting any better. What should I do now?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

This sounds like pes anserine bursitis and it would take an MRI scan of the knee to diagnose that.

Treatment would involve a cortisone injection
