How To Treat A Fractured Thumb?

Hi , I fractured my thumb about two weeks ago , i haven t had any pain or swealling. I am wondering if i really cast? because i really need my right hand that s the thumb i fractured i need it for writting and school. Is their anything else i can use instead of a cast??.

Hello,

I will advice to first take an x-ray. As it's mandatory to confirm if it's a fraction or a ligament sprain. Post seeing the type of the fracture it can be decided to use the cast or the brace. Most cases, only a brace is needed if the fracture is not complicated.
