How To Treat A Stroke Patient With Clot In Hte Middle?

My mom had a bad stroke yesterday. when I got to the room I went over and sat with her, everybody looked like it was over. I don't think so. I look into her eyes and it looks like to me, when a person wakes up in the middle of sugery and cant say anything or move, but they are right there just inside looking thru a cloudy glass trying their best to tell you whats wrong. I an add showing a doctor with a new method of pulling the clot out of the vein that has the stroke. Hers was in the main one, in hte middle. please help me help my mom.

Hi, welcome to our site. I am Dr Saumya Mittal.

Read your query. That is a very significant question and i appreciate your problem. I will try my best to answer your query

I am not sure about the size of the infarct in the brain. But the sad fact remains my friend that complete recovery in stroke patient remains a distant and uncertain possibility in most patients.

and besides there are a huge number of complications that can develop over a period of time. these include neurological problems, like increasing water in her brain, or medical problems like lung infections

i however trust your instinct
so i will suggest you be completely normal to her
a few of the following suggestions may not be possible in a hospital

give her a walkman- let her listen to music
as soon as your doctor allows it, mobilize her
read her the newspaper
in other words, be normal to her

treatment i am sure your doc would look after
i would still suggest that one watch for
bed sores
fever
cough
breathing pattern
blood pressure and heart rate
and urine output

you would cover the possibility of many complications if you monitor this

I hope this helps you. Inform the reports mentioned above so i can be of help further. Best of luck.
