How To Treat Abdominal Pain, Back Pain And Hematuria With CT Scan Showing No Stones And Culture Showing No Infection?
I have been having abdominal pain, back pain and hematuria. I have had adhesions in the past and was wondering if they could be causing my pain and bleeding now. CT scan showed no stones. Just feel like a big ball is under my right ribs too. Back pain can be excruciating and then dissipates. My doctor has had me on 2 antibiotics for 3 weeks and grew a culture last week that showed no infection. I am going to ask for an MRI so we can have a better picture. Thank you for any advice.
Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
In case you are from a developing region or from a region where tuberculosis is not uncommon, I would advise you to get yourself investigated for tuberculosis, which can give rise to hematuria, without any evidence of infection in the urine investigations. MRI report will also be helpful.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in planning your treatment. Thanks for using the health care magic forum for your query on health. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
