How To Treat Abdominal Pain Post Fall Mediated Injury?

I fell on my bathroom floor very hard today morning. I went to a chiropractionar and he did some X-rays but no fractures were ruled out. Since morning I am having this abdominal pain and feel very gassy after this fall. Could you tell me the relation between the fall and stomach pain.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
The pain in abdomen after a fall in bathroom can be due to one or combination of the following:
- Blunt injury abdomen can cause inflammation, swelling or so inside the abdominal cavity or in the retro-peritoneal structures.
It can cause injury to the abdominal wall muscles due to spasm or hematoma.
This can be confirmed by clinical examination and ultrasonography of the abdomen, retro-peritoneal space and abdominal wall.
The treatment will obviously depend upon the finding.
CT scan may be required if in doubt.
Take a PPI like Omeprazole, anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen if it suits you if there is no distension of abdomen, nausea or vomiting.
If such symptoms develop then do not take anything orally and consult a Doctor or go to ER for clinical evaluation, examination , investigations and proper management.
