How To Treat Bloating, Burping And Distention In An Old Woman?
my 76 year old mother feel on her coccyx a week ago. since then she has not been able to have normal bowel movements, has constant loud belching, and gets distended every time she eats anything. She had x-rays which showed a small fracture on the lower back. she was given enemas and Colace for the constipation which did enable her to have a bowel movement. But she is in a high degree of discomfort daily from the bloating, burping and distention.

bloating and burping are not related to her fall. is she kept on pain killers for her pain? if so, it is explained by acidity due to the drugs. you may try OTC antacids like ranitidine.
splitting the diet into portions and feeding her in small quantities frequently may help.
