Since you have a past history of having shingles and are now experiencing pain and discomfort in the legs you can apply cool compress or a cool shower to sooth the skin. Apply ointment that contains topical Lidocaine in the area affected for relief. Capsaicin cream or acyclovir cream when applied locally is equally effective. Orally you can take pain relieving medicines like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen. A course of antivirals like Famciclovir and Valacyclovir are effective, get clinically examined get treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
