How To Treat Cold And Cough In A 3.5 Years Old Child?

My kid is 3 n a half yr old and she is a premature baby, now she weighs 12kg, is it normal? Now for past 2 weeks she got fever n cold. My Dr gave her Asthalin Syrup more than 3 times whenever she got cold. Will it affect her? noe also she is not recover from cold n cough. What medicine I can give?

12 kg weight at this age is OK.(lower normal range).you haven't mentioned whether fever is stii on or gone.If only cough is there now then this clinical picture suggest viral bronchitis. It takes 7-21 days for cough to disappear. But if fever is also there then she needs to becre evaluated and may be hospitalised.Sometimes nebulization helps to decrease such type of cough.If cough persists then she will have to be investigated for causes of persistent cough.
