How To Treat Constipation During Perimenopause?

premenopausal
I am a 48 year old going through premenopause. I have been experiencing constipation for 2 weeks. I have tried a liquid laxative with no success. I do not take calcium supplements and I drink lots of water. What can I do to get some relief?

Hi....

Welcome to healthcare magic.
According to your complain you have problem of constipation still after taking laxative that may be because of lack of gastric motility or other reasons.
Intestinal obstruction may lead to this type of symptoms.
Hypothyroidism also cause constipation problem.
Abdominal ultra sonography can done for further diagnosis.
Consult a gastroenterologist for further diagnosis.
I hope my guidance helpful to you..
