General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, If you don't have a motion in 3 weeks you should start with an enema ( hot water, glycerine syringe) to start the process. Start taking liquid paraffin 2-3 spoons twice a day with warm water( adjest the dose to avoid loose motions) Send the stools for pathological testing,to find if there is some infection( bacterial, amebic, worm infestations.) & take corresponding treatment with your doctor's consultation. Take lot of fibers & water in your diet. (vegetables, salads, fruits, espaghula) Avoid fast food. Exercise daily(Yoga,Walking). Have a regular & ideal life style. Consult a gastroenterologist. Thanks.
