How To Treat Cough And Cold In A 1 Year And 7 Months Old Child?

Doctor,

My son is 1yr 7 mnths old, he has been having a cold for over a month now. With Augpen, his chest congestion went away, but cough, mostly in morning & nightime persisted even after 10 + days of zyrcold and viscosin junior medication. On further consutation, his paed gav solspre nasal spray, Montair sachet for a month, and allegra syrp for 10/15 days for persistent nasal congestion. M a little sceptical about too much medications as he is still too young. However, there seems hardly any improvement after 2 days. How long should i wait for d medication to take effect?

Your symptoms looks like allergic manifestation. Treatment given Is for it only.Allegra and montair are generally safe at this age.You can judge its response in 10 days.Avoid going out early morning and late night.Don't give chips,chocolate, cream biscuits, fruity.change bedsheets and pillow cover on alternate day.keep soft toys in cupboard.Pets at home can also be the cause of allergy.Do pest control at home to take care of cockroaches.
