How To Treat Deep Breath Mediated Left Sided Pain?
Hello, I am having sharp pains on my left side when I breath in deeply, left side, couple inches higher than belly button. I am otherwise feeling fine, however I did have some pain and tenderness to the touch in my left leg two days ago. Not sure if they re connected.... I am a 39 year old female. Thank you.
Hello, Pain in the left side ( as you mentioned just above belly ) during breathing ( deep) may be due to following reasons, these includes. 1 Pleural effusion , very mild degree effusion ( fluid ) in pleura sometimes develops pain during deep breathing. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest with physical examination by a physician . 2 Thickened pleura develops such pain during deep breathing . It is very hard to detect such type of case . Diagnosis can be confirmed X ray lower part of chest in P A view. 3 Spleen pain may be mistaken because during deep breathing such type of pain develop in this region. Ultrasound of spleen will be helpful . However there are so many other reasons of such type of pain , so consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck.
