How To Treat Dry Heaving?

I am a 19 year old female, about 5'7'' 125 lbs, and was diagnosed a few years ago with esophagitis. I've been randomly dry heaving for about a month now.. Only about once a week and it only lasts for a few minutes.. It doesn't seem to be brought on by anything specific, but seems to happen after I lay down.. I don't know if this could have any connection as I haven't had any symptoms in quite some time..
