How To Treat Flu,sore Throat And Muscle Pain In Arms,legs And Diagnosed With PMR?

Hi ya, I m really worried about my father he has had it for about two years and doctors are useless the diagnosed pmr but it s not that the specialist said.He starts off with flu/ sore throat symptoms then it s Worse in mornings but describes to have sore muscles somedays lifting arms and legs up hurts throughout the day hard to move.I can see it makes him depressed . Hello,
I have studied your case.He is most probably having post viral myalgia. In this condition there is joint pain and weakness . I would suggest you to do following.
1.Get his blood test like ESR,CRP and Ra factor.
2.Start Tablet Brufen 400 mg twice daily.
3.Hot water fomentation, avoid cold temperature as it causes more stiffness.
4.Tablet HCQ if ESR is raised.
5. Calcium and vitmainD 3 daily to treat senile osteoporosis.
I hope these steps will help him. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
