How To Treat Frequent Diarrhea And Headache Due To Ulcerative Colitis?

This past 6 months has been rough as I ve or rather 2 bouts w/ulcerative colitis and 2 with c-diff spent 10 days in intensive care, then isolation due to blood infection for 10 more days. This recovery has been extremely difficult, with vomiting, frequent loose stools. headaches . exhaustion. difficulty w/eating. I ve had colitis since I was 17. I m so frustrated. over the years my famiwill be gratly is tired of hearing we can t go or missing softball games, concerts. thank for any advice. Kathleen

Thanks for your query.
Read your history of known case of ulcerative colitis, had two bouts of ulcerative colitis and 2 with C.diff keeping you in Intensive care for 10 days and in Isolation for more days.
Vomiting, frequent stools and headache is part of the symptoms complex and usually occurs due to toxemia of infection or toxins of the bacteria and so on. I can understand how frustration it would be to have this problem since so ling and missing on every day enjoyment.
I would advise you the following:
By regular follow-up with your Gastroenterologist and the investigations you can keep a tab over the colitis part. Strictly adhere to the diet and beverage charts as advised and avoid all the foods and beverages that increase your problems.
The medicines needs to be altered in dose and schedule as per the symptoms that you have from time to time.
Measures to improve the immunity are very important.
