How To Treat Head Injury?

Hi, Doctor,
I got hit in the head about 45 minutes ago on my temple VERY hard, I was pushed into a wall. Was very dizzy afterwards but stayed conscious and no vomiting. I have a mild-moderate head ache and It hurts to bite down hard or to chew. What's wrong?

Well, it sounds as if you may have suffered some trauma to the jaw itself. You should at once get some ice on there. Your other symptoms are also consistent with what we would term a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) which need not be considered mortal or somehow leading to huge consequences because the vast majority of these types of jars get better over time. However, I would recommend getting to an ER to get everything looked at if not documented. If you were pushed on purpose as in assaulted then, you'll likely want to consider reporting this to the authorities especially if you've no insurance coverage so that you may be eligible for some type of assistance if it's determined that you suffered this incident as the result of a crime of violence. Anyways, I'm not trying to be your legal aid--- but simply letting you know what may be available to you in the event you do not have insurance coverage and how you can set things up to make sure you get the treatment you need without being responsible if this push into the wall was not something you approved of....
