Hi, I have just had a doctor tell me that I have blood & protein in my urine, they know my kidneys are not happy but can't tell me what is wrong yet. I have no blood pressure issues, the only problem is my kidneys are sore. What are your thoughts?I am a male, aged 43
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concern. The presence of protein and blood in urine are signs of many diseases, the most common are: post-strep glomerulonephritis that is caused by a streptococci infection of throat and appear after one week after this infection; other inflammatory e.g. IgA nephropathy it happen after one to two day of non-specific upper respiratory infection, These are some of the cause but there is more so to determine the cause and then treat it in a better way you should go to a nephrologist and do other examination, because every cause have a different treatment from each other. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Kind regard, Dr .Marsida Janko
