How To Treat Hot Flashes, Chills, Frequent Urination And Discomfort At The Back?

Hi dr. I havehot flashes, chills in the evening, frequent urination in small amount, bloody dischage , some discomfort at the lower back but not painful took 100 mg of macrobid for 3 days 2x a day but seems not wirkin, then dr gave me apo sulfatrim 800/160 mg 2x a day to be taken 7 days , 5 days have passed but still not too much improvement pls help

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. You have complaint of Fever with chills, frequent urination in small quantity, bloody discharge and lower back pain. This symptoms are due to either urinary tract infection or due to ureteric calculi (stone). But according to your history you had already taken two antibiotics and still not improved.
For this you have to test urine for Routine and Microbiologic test which will help you to know whether you have urinary tract infection or ureteric calculi. If you get oxalate crystals in urine test than it will be further confirmed by Ultrasonography.
At present for your fever with chills and Backpain you can take combination of Pain killer and Paracetamol, for frequent micturition you should drink plenty of water and fluids and can take citralka liquid with water,continue the antibiotics for more 5 days.
So immediately contact your treating urologist, get investigated and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help you.
