How To Treat Intense Pain And Swelling In Knees Caused After A Injury?
I hurt my knees while working in February, now they hurt every day. They are not swollen but feels like tremendous pressure behind knee caps. Pains shoot up and down my legs from the knees. Just wondering what causes that pressure feeling. It also feels like I have weights on my knees. Awful feeling.
There are bursa behind the knee caps, these are fluid filled sacs. They can sometimes become inflamed and this may be the case for you.
It is also possible that there may be changes in the bones of the joint itself.
You may need imaging of the knee joints to check for these changes. A xray at this point should be enough.
The use of anti inflammatory pain medication such as cataflam, naproxen or ibuprofen would be helpful In addition rest, icing the joints and compression bandages may also help to reduce the pain.
I hope this helps
