How To Treat Itchy Rashes And Sleeplessness Following TB Tablets Intake?
this is for my mother 92yrs. swelling in the armpit. removed by opertion. biopsy showed tb cells in lymph glands. dr put her on a tb treatment course that started causing severe rashes on the skin and loss of sleep. medicines were changed by the doctor but no effect. itching continues. treatment started roughly a month ago. recently doctor recommended stopping administering all tablets; however no improvement. itching continues would this not subside. any remedy pls? tks.

Going through your history and your mother is suffering from abdominal tuberculosis. for the management of tuberculosis is standard protocol to treat.
The anti tubeculosis treatment (ATT) have some side effect like another medicine and the mechanism ofreaction depends upon human to human indivisuals. Severe rash are the indication for drug reactions . Usually if any drug reaction like itching occurs during tratment of TB need some drugs which decrease the symptom of itching must be added without stoping the Tuberculosis treatment.
If itching persists then stop ATT for a week and continue the management for itching .
You treating doctor advice to her stop all medication for some day , but she is not improving in her conditions
NOw the suggestion from my side
take Tab Allegra 120 mg at bed time for 10 days
If rash and itching are severe then need injections . But before prescribing Injections need Vital status of patient. If your resident of New Delhi must visit in National Institute of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease at Mehrauli. New Delhi
