How To Treat Knee Twisting With Severe Pain In A 7 Years Old Child?
My sister (7 yrs old) twisted her knee this morning and now it's bruised up and she says it hurts severely. According to her, she didn't hear any pops when she twisted it, so I'm assuming she hasn't tore any ligaments/muscles. Also her kneecap is in line with the other knee, so again I'm assuming she didn't tear her tendon. I think it's just stretched ligament, but she's a little kid, so I'm kind of worried. I'll go see doctor tomorrow morning, but I just want to know what her problem might be.

There are many possibilities. Blunt injury only with inflammation of muscle and ligament.. Or ligament tear...or capsule tear..or menisci injury..or tendon injury
But in your case clinically it looks like blunt musculoskeletal injury.Primary treatment in all cases is antiinflammatory medicine like ibuprofen and stabilisation of knee with no weight bearing
