MY GIRLFRIEND HAD A TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY IN SEPT. 2013. SINCE THAT TIME SHE HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECOVER. SHE IS CONFUSED, HAS LOW TO NO ENERGY, CONTINUOUS HOT FLASHES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND NIGHT, IS EXPERIENCING HEART PALPATATIONS(PRIOR TO HYSTERECTOMY 60-65 BPM, CURRENTLY 88-97 BPM) SHE HAS SEEN SEVERAL PHYSICIANS AND HAS BEEN TOLD THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HAD A PATIENT WITH SUCH SEVER SYMPTOMS. CURRENTLY TRYING COMPOUNDING TO HELP ALLEVIATE HER SYMPTOMS BUT SO FAR NO LUCK. WHAT CAN YOU RECOMMEND TO HER IN ORDER TO BRING SOME SORT OF NORMALCY BACK TO HER LIFE?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. Detailed evaluation including serial ECG is required to rule out cardiac causes.

We have to rule out possibilities like anaemia and thyroid dysfunction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
