My mothers urine culture has grown morganella morganii. She has a long standing hx of c diff and has taken flagyl for over a year. She has autoimmune syndromes systemic lupus, sjogrens, and now being tested for guilliam barre and mythenia gravis. She has a 4mm pituitary macroadenoma that is also being checked into. My question is there an alternative treatment for the uti instead of an antibotic which will flare her c diff. She is dealing with so much. The last flare up with the c diff caused hospitalization and almost killed her. She is 75. Weight 155. 5ft 3.
