Hi, I have been working out for two months. Recently I started having muscle spams in my legs. Thursday and Friday morning I woke up to severe leg and thigh cramping. I have taken potassium pills a total of 5 from 4:30 am and eating bananas. However, I am still experiencing severe cramping in my legs. What can I do?
I have studied your case. Muscle cramps can be reduced by taking muscle relaxant consulting your doctor. Massaging the cramped muscle with your hands or oil Drinking plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration Stretching your leg muscles or riding a stationary cycle. Taking diet rich in calcium and potassium or oral supplements of the same Check your vit B12 and Vit D 3 levels.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
