How To Treat Pain And Swelling In Foot Caused After Injury?

I dropped a bottle of frozen water on my foot 10/31, it swelled immediately and has not gone down. I can walk on it well and bend my toes. But, its becoming more painful with a burning sensation. The pain is starting to travel and its tender to the touch .

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain it seems that due to falling of frozen bottle there has been physical injury to the soft tissues of the foot leading to inflammation and there is accumulation of inflammatory fluid, cells, ruptured tissues and blood vessels and also blood leading to inflammation and swelling..
I would suggest you to do cool compresses over the foot..
You can also apply a steroid ointment over it..
Elevate your feet while lying down..
You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen..
Try to take more of rest and limit exertion over the feet for faster healing..
You can also consult an Orthopedician and get an x ray done to rule out for any hairline cracks or fractures in the bones..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
