How To Treat Painful Arms When Stretched Above The Head Due To Typing?

I have not been able to stretch my arms above my head (the right arm) and there is pain from under the arm to the elbow. also the vein on the back of my palm just in line with the middle finger is swollen and painful.

I think that it could be because of carpel tunnel as I have been tying a long report on my PC.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs because of compression of the median nerve at the wrist. It would normally be associated with pain or abnormal sensations in the affected hand.

It would not be associated with pain in the forearm, arm or shoulder region. The pain that you are experiencing when trying to elevate your arm above your head is likely related to problems at the shoulder joint, this may also cause referral pain to the elbow.

It would be best to consult your doctor for an assessment of this area to determine the exact reason of the symptoms. X rays may be required.

I hope this helps
