How To Treat Painful Enlarged Lymph-node On The Right Side Of The Neck?
hello. I have hashimotos thyroiditis and about a month ago after an ultrasound, my dr. told me I have an enlarged lymphnode on the right side of my neck. it is painful to the touch and getting bigger. but all the drs. tell me is that they are watching it
in my opinion painful enlargement of lymphadenopathy , first differential diagnosis of infective reason should be considered. for that I would recommend you a short course of antibiotics and pain killers. if lymph nodes disappears, its ok. if it's not, I would recommend a FNAC and histologic examination of lymphadenopathy. further treatment will depend on that. certain point in history , age, duration, weight loss, other complaint, smoking/ drinking history will support in making diagnosis. for hashimoto, thyroid hormone levels are maintained in normal range by conservative treatment.
